Let’s talk
About P1

Good stories start
with people.

We make documentaries about people living through something that matters. The pressure, the doubts, the decisions nobody else sees. That’s where we look.

P1 Entertainment is based in Bristol and works internationally. Our creative leadership brings together experience in cinema, broadcast documentaries and series made while the outcome is still in doubt.

01 / Creative & executive leadership

CEO · Executive Producer & Director

Borja Cantera

Borja turns exceptional access into documentaries people want to watch. He leads P1’s creative direction, from the first conversation about a story to the decisions that shape it in the edit.

Sport has been a big part of his career. But what interests him is what pressure reveals about a person. You find that in a business or a creative team as much as on the water or the track.

More about Borja

At P1, he is Executive Producer and Series Director on Racing On The Edge for SailGP. His earlier work includes directing multiple series of GT Academy for Nissan and PlayStation, and co-creating and directing World’s Fastest Gamer for McLaren and Logitech. Both were Grand Central productions.

His wider career includes films and series for the BBC, Discovery and Red Bull. Through Production Intelligence, he helps producers, rights holders and brands decide what to make, how to make it and what to do with the material they already have.

He is also developing AI-assisted editorial workflows at P1, with human judgement guiding story decisions.

More about Cécile

Cécile’s first short, The Watchmaker, screened at Hot Docs, DOK Leipzig and South by Southwest. She directed, produced and filmed this portrait of an Iranian watchmaker in East London.

How we work

The right people
for the story.

Every film needs a different mix of people. Our producers, directors, camera crews and editors work together around the demands of the story, with senior creative involvement from development through delivery.

Sometimes you need a production partner. Sometimes you need an experienced eye on a project you’re already making. We do both.
